Age Limits?[edit source]

I got a question I'm 14 and want to be a street medic but can I really? I have training from the American Red Cross in CPR adult, infant, child, AED adult, infant, child and Standard First Aid.

  1. There's no age limits. The youngest street medic I knew was 9 years old when she was in Quebec City in 2001. She worked in the clinic in one of the most violent demos our community has seen in the last 15 years. Street medic training is 25 hours over a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and is usually offered before major demos. It is usually free or by donation (if you can, try to donate $20-$50 because none of us is rich, and travel costs the trainer money). I think they offered a training in DC before the IMF/World Bank protests this last week. I would check our the Rosehips if you live in the Pacific Northwest or the new FLAME collective in the Northeast. Just stay in touch and try to find out when the next training will be. Nobody really keeps the list at List_of_street_medic_organizations totally current, but it's a good place to start. We don't have any central organization, just collectives throughout the world.
